Bossaball in Barcelona at the Global Sports Forum

Bossaball suddenly found itself in the midst of all Barcelona sports events, when Bossaball International collaborated with the Global Sports Forum, a major event with an inspiring line up of top notch sports leader from all over the world.

From Wednesday till Friday, 7 – 9 of March 2012, this forum was held at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya. A set of three demonstration shows were performed, including matches between Spain and The Netherlands. Many spectators from all over the world watched the games and showed their interest in Bossaball.

Lucien Boyer, executive director of the Havas Sports & Entertainment and initiator of the GSF Barcelona, named the bossaball performance afterwards ‘a huge success’ on behalf of the organization and audience. More compliments to bossaball were given by FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, who paid a visit on Thursday and clearly enjoyed the game, and Sebastian Coe, chairman of the organising committee for the upcoming London Olympics. ‘New, innovative sports are the future’, he commented, before he left the building holding a Bossaball brochure in his hand.

Global Sports Forum

Throughout the event a total of three Bossaball demonstrations were held. On the second day, as part of an analysis on emerging sports, Bossaball served as an example of an innovative new sport and thus to illustrate the theory.
