Slovenia won the first Open Dutch Championship Bossaball. After a great semifinal against Belgium, the Slovenians won the tournament by defeating Turkey in the final with 21-18. The tournament took place next to the FIVB World Tour Beach Volleyball on the beach in Scheveningen. Click here for pictures of the Open Dutch Championship.

On Saturday August 29th the first Dutch Open Championship Bossaball started with the groupstage matches. Seven national and international teams played for a ranking for the second round. The favourite teams Holland and Belgium became 1st and 2nd.

On Sunday August 30th the second round took place with a knock-out stage.

The big obstacle during the second round was the strong wind.

The results of the semifinals came as a big surprise. The expected final Holland versus Belgium was not longer going to happen when Slovenia won the first semifinal against Belgium with 21-15. Just recovered from the first unexpected result, Turkey won the second semifinal against Holland with 21-14.

After the World Tour Beach Volleyball final for men, the Bossaball final Slovenia-Turkey started. Both teams were concentratedand tried not to make any errors. At the end Slovenia deserved the title by winning with 21-18.
